BEV Drivers get expanded convenience with Lexus’s charging network and convenience features

Lexus’s charging network and convenience features

Lexus‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Canada announced a series of initiatives that aim to enrich the ownership experience of guests with battery electric vehicles (BEVs). These initiatives include an extended network of DC fast chargers (including the Tesla Supercharger Network), a new Plug & Charge capability, Apple Maps EV Routing, and the launch of Wallet.

  • Lexus‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ expands charging network and convenience features for BEV drivers
  • Among other exciting things, the 2026 Lexus RZ, which hits the market this month, offers increased range and shorter charging times.
  • Lexus battery electric vehicle users can now charge via the Tesla Supercharger Network.
  • From this month onward, model year 2023-25 Lexus RZ drivers will have access to SAE J3400 NACS plugs via an adapter available from Lexus dealerships.
  • Lexus Interface will use Apple Maps EV Routing to enhance the guest experience further
  • Wallet lets Lexus BEV drivers set up charging payment through the Lexus ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌app.

Expanded Charging Network

Lexus customers can now benefit from the Tesla Supercharger Network, which can be easily located alongside other compatible charging networks in the Lexus app. Besides, with the app, you can also pay for charging sessions. With an active subscription to Remote Connect, the process is simplified by Plug & Charge capabilities for the latest BEVs like the 2026 RZ and ES. Owners can now start charging by just connecting, following a one-time Plug & Charge setup and payment via the Lexus app Wallet.

NACS Adapter

Order a Lexus-approved NACS adapter if you are the owner of a 2023-25 Lexus RZ BEV and take advantage of the SAE J1772 and Combined Charging System (CCS) stations with backward compatibility charging. This offers even greater flexibility and convenience.

“The BEV ecosystem differs from that of internal combustion engines and hybrids, yet our objective remains unchanged — to deliver an enriching experience our Lexus guests can rely on for the long haul,” said Martin Gilbert, Director of Lexus Canada. “We’re pleased to offer our battery electric vehicle guest's meaningful enhancements that elevate their ownership journey.”

Users of the BEVs will receive a letter with instructions about how to schedule a pickup, contact a dealer, or ship the complimentary NACS for their vehicle.

EV Routing with Apple Maps

Lexus users can now get access to Apple Maps EV Routing via Apple CarPlay, further complementing the BEV ecosystem. With this, you get real-time vehicle information, changes in elevation, vehicle model, and battery performance. This helps drivers navigate efficiently towards compatible charging stations along their destination.

Wallet

The Wallet allows Lexus BEV users to set up payments for charging through the Lexus app. You do not need any third-party apps to execute this.
